This is the list of NIJ certified armor, your products aren’t on it:

Not only do you not certify your product, you post disingenuous crap...Last edited by tanksoldier; Yesterday, 12:25 AM.

We have a kill switch that lets us keep the engine running without a key, but kills it if any controls are moved.
I’d never leave a car with the keys in it, locked or not. One rock and you’re writing a letter to the chief.

In Colorado academy academics are high-school/ junior college level since most academies here are run by colleges and offer lower division college credit.
I doubt others elsewhere are much more advanced. They literally tell you every single thing on the test. Look around at some of the...

I've never worked for a department that did it, because I've never worked for a department that sponsors cadets, but I've seen departments that did... and the SO I worked for would give trainees a take home somewhere in Phase 2 if you were doing well.
Usually it was when the academy was...Last edited by tanksoldier; 11-28-2019, 11:30 AM.

tanksoldier replied to Did I make the wrong choice in pursuing correctionals BEFORE law enforcement?in Ask a CopCorrections is a completely separate and satisfying career separate from law enforcement... and arguably MORE vital. The experience you gain in corrections and detention is valuable if you decide to crossover to law enforcement... but corrections isn't the "law enforcement minor leagues"....

My first deployment, in 1991, our battalion chaplain got divorced because his wife was cheating. There were so many problems I can’t even begin. I was with 3AD in Germany, a reserve unit back filled us and moved into our barracks... right next to the housing area....

Even if you go to a police academy while being paid you can still get paid by the VA.
self-sponsoring is fine as long as agencies where you live think that’s a good thing.
In Colorado few agencies have their own academies, many if not most police applicants are already certified....

I will say this: I don't know about law enforcement but in the military computers and technology have reduced productivity immensely.
Internet and Facebook aside, when you typed a document by hand certain errors were accepted... you struck through and continued on.
Now not...

It is bad, but C3 is right... have you been living under a rock?
My department won't even presumptive test "powdery substances", and we weigh them in their bags.
If we think it's a drug we send it off, the lab tests and weighs, and if it is we write a warrant after...Last edited by tanksoldier; 11-17-2019, 10:38 AM.

You’ve been taught about the invalidity of self-selecting samples at school, and about ensuring your sample actually fits your parameters, such as making sure the officers you’re questioning are actually cops?

A supervisor's job is to get his troops what they need to do their job, and deflect distractions from their job, so they can accomplish the organization's mission.
Just like the Reed interview techniques you sometimes have to play along to get what you need.

Doesn't matter. Human factors aside, no department is accepting the liability of putting a known pregnant officer on the street. If she was the ONLY officer they'd find coverage.
Until recently my department had 8 officers including the Chief and CSO/ ACO. 4/8 were female....Last edited by tanksoldier; 11-12-2019, 12:58 PM.

IMO it's similar to how the armed forces make fun of each other: Marines rib Soldiers who dis Airmen who point out that Marines have float wives courtesy of the Navy... and everyone looks down on Coasties.
AT the end of the day we're all cops, even the FBI guy who hasn't seen pavement in...
