Galco makes a holster care kit that has leather lotion and a silicone to put on the inside of the holster to speed up the draw.

Safariland used to offer something similar years ago (I still have one I haven't used yet) but I'm not sure if they still do or not.

I have an RMR 06 type 2 on a Glock 34 that I have been experimenting with since the end of the summer. (My gun has the slide milled and is not the MOS version)

A bunch of local agencies have just recently allowed RDS sights as an option.

So far, I have found the RDS easier...

My agency put Strikefire IIs on BCM carbines back in 2015. We're happy with that choice, but in truth the guns haven't been run really hard.

I have a personal BCM with a Strikefire II that I got later in 2015 and I've had good luck with it but I probably only have about 2500 rounds through...

replied to Anyone using a conversion barrel?
I have Lone Wolf conversion barrels for both my G22 and G35.

I bought them to allow for cheaper practice. I have shot them using both 9mm and .40 cal magazines and had good reliability and accuracy both.

That being said, I'm NOT sure if I would use a conversion barrel for defensive...

Between 1900-0700 hrs, if you're on patrol the pattern of activity is kind of like working in a small town -- building checks, responding to alarms, self initiated traffic enforcement and dealing with the homeless and some alcohol related stupidity downtown. The CPD has state wide authority for felonies,...

    replied to Holidays Alone
Some people get really hung up on how things "have to be."

As long as you can celebrate the holiday with your family sometime fairly close to the actual holiday you're good. The problem is when the significant other has a fixed idea of how things "have to be" and isn't...

    replied to Need some advice!!
In my life I've had four situations where I dated co-workers.

The most recent one ended in disappointment without drama. The one before that had LOTS of crazy involved, and the two before that (back in the mid-1980s) resulted in awkwardness that somewhat dissipated over time.

  • I carry a G19 as an off duty gun in cooler weather and I have a +2 magazine extensions from Falkour Defense on all my carry magazines. I've been using them since July and they've worked well so far.

I'd check with your agency rangemaster to see what modifications are permissible by policy....

I work for an agency that has two Tahoe PPVs (marked) and two Interceptors (unmarked). My official assigned vehicle is an Interceptor but I probably drive one of the Tahoe's about a quarter of the time.

I like the Interceptor better. I drove both when we did EVOC last September and I found...

  • I have been to a few police shift parties that got pretty sporty, but nobody was playing with loaded guns . . .

Like everybody else has observed, there's probably a lot more to this story and it will be interesting to see how much is ever released to the public
