  • Mike lol just sharing my experience so you fellas can have a smooth ride to the final offer.

@TX doesn’t sound like you’ll have no problem. What I like about schedule B is that folks are “excepted service” for 3 years so if someone turns out to not be ideal or a problem child they...

  • So I have no inside knowledge aside from casual conversations with the Marshals in my area and my own experience. I would wager that if you made it this far and are a current LEO you probably have a better than 50% chance of making it to a final offer.

This is also very important because...

  • I went through the process in 2016. I declined the final offer for personal reasons but getting to know the process was great albeit frustrating at times. It really taught me to be more patient and that things will happen when they happen and we can’t force it. I definitely feel like if someone had...

  • I would not really pay attention to the regions “wish list” at that point. They do that for the regular announcement too but ultimately it’s a formality. Like I said earlier from my experience it comes up twice at the final offer stage. The first will be from HR at the final offer giving you district...

  • I hear the same things you guys are hearing in that no office or region is guaranteed regardless of where your information session was. I’d be willing to bet that it’s just like a regular announcement in that during the final offer stage they will probably ask you to list your top 3 in order of...

  • Battle, tried sending you a PM but looks like you "exceeded the PM limit." lol didn't know that was possible! You and I are in the same boat in terms of trying get back home and still maintaining our 1811 status. Some times I wonder if the USMS is the best opportunity to do that with their...

  • No sir I didn’t take any offense at all and likewise I hope I didn’t come across as offensive with you. Some times my inflection or meaning gets lost in text and comes across a differently than intended. I definitely see your point and it sounds like you’re at a good agency where you wouldn’t...

  • That's a broad and rather unfair statement Battle. I know plenty of 11 and 13 1811's whom have taken that hit because they valued what the USMS does in terms of their missions and history. These men and women don't hate their lives and frankly I think if you knew them you'd have no problem with them...

  • For what it's worth during the regular nationwide announcement it was approximately 13 months from the time the tentative came down to the final offer was given. That was with CITP already but not a high enough security clearance at that point.

That was a few years ago and I have to believe...

  • Sorry to hear that man. You gotta stay true to yourself and I think you did the admirable thing in answering how you saw it as opposed to trying to game the system and answer the way you think they want you to answer. Maybe take a bit of a break for the next year or so, get some more experience, focus...

  • Congrats man. I wouldn't worry too much about a score as I think that's more of a formality in schedule B hiring. The reality is you got referred after interview, assessment, and resume review. I think they more than likely weeded out whom they wanted to weed out at this point....

  • @Golly, when that final offer comes down in the next week or so don't forget to scream to high heaven you have CITP already. Unless of course you want 13 weeks of that glorious chicken.....again. lol Congrats man. I love working with you OSI guys, top notch crew in my opinion.

  • It should be noted that for clearances they will adopt what you already have if it is high enough for their purposes. For instance, a colleague jumped to the USMS from a DOD Entity (civilian 1811) and they adopted his "TS" with some additional forms to ensure nothing has changed. I'd imagine...
