  • In addition to being LEOSA qualified I also had a pistol NY pistol permit. As Iowa states, sometimes a company hiring retirees require you to have the local permit. I think in NYS, to have an armed guard license, one must possess a NYS permit. No permit or license required if active and moonlighting....

  • All you or we for that matter is to be qualified per the LEOSA standard. You know better than most, Federal Law usurps Local Law. It's amazing that some state and local cops still don't get it. It ain't rocket science....

  • A retirees card that bears an expiration date does not invalidate ones LEOSA privileges, if he maintains his annual qualification, per the LEOSA standard.

    NYPD is an agency that places an expiration date on their cards...IT MEANS NOTHING TO A RETIREE. AND that's directly from the Shield...

    Got to shoot one last weekend. I've never been a fan of the pistol grip shotguns, BUT! The Shockwave is a different animal. It's hard to believe. We shot both hot and some tactical lite recoil OO Buck and some slugs.
