  • NASCAR Team Racing NEW TACTICS

I'm not a real NASCAR fan but I do watch on occasion. I am glad I did. They tried a new tactic in racing called team racing or (speed dating) was what the announcers called it. The race was at Talladega today and the premise was two cars teamed up together. One to lead the other to push.
Yes push! Aaron's 499 Sprint Cup race. All through the race one car was pushed by another hitting speeds of 198 MPH in the corners!

Fiery wrecks, no one injured, fantastic finish! I could be a NASCAR fan again!

Watch the finish, especially the LOWES car.

They did the same thing at Daytona in February. Both tracks do restrictor plate racing. This is the first year drivers have really used that strategy for the entire race. Gotta love those steep banked corners. Drivers hit them with the throttle wide open. Basically a casual fan myself, but I did go to the Daytona 500 in 2009. If you get a chance to go to a race, definitely do it.

    eta: Heckuva finish.
