Colors was an excellent movie. Even though I don't work in a city even close to that size, IMOO it is the most realistic for that time period.

Ronin had all real car chases. Also the original French Taxi movies were real and they were just as good.

Nobody mentioned Bullitt? That was one of the coolest car chase scenes ever!

I agree with all the opinions I've seen here. I'm gonna have to check out "Onion Field", and the "New Centurions". I love almost every show that is cop orientated. NYPD blue, Awesome.. The Shield, we all wish we could do that stuff, Except 187. And some other. But I would like to voice my opinion of one of the best on screen cops of our day. Big or little screen. I'm talking 'bout the coolest cop of this era. Yep you guessed it, James "Sonny" Crockett. MIAMI VICE, Don Johnson was great as this character. He also went on to the show NASH BRIDGES, which was another one of my favs. He also was in a Low budget Movie, where he played a cop, where he investigated the murder(s) of a fellow cop that had to do with an Aryain Nation. Pretty cool movie if you like gritty, and DJ. Favorite all time cop movie has to be "L.A. Confidental" If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. Get it at your local Wal-Mart for under 10$.

                        Peace!!

As for movies, I really enjoyed "Narc" with Ray Liotta. He was one mean MF'er in that one.

Definitely High Incident, it was the most down to earth and realistic if you ask me., showing day to day stuff.

By far and wide IMO Police Story is the best. I also liked 10-8. Wish they didn't take that off the air. I like any copshow that goes into everyday uniform patrol.

                                TV:
                                The Shield
                                The WIRE
                                NYPD BLUE
                                THIRD WATCH

                                MOVIES:
                                Narc
                                Training Day
                                SWAT
                                both of the BAD BOYS
Super Troopers is good to laugh at.

And that movie that is coming out next month The Departed looks good.
