I am not entirely sure that it is legal to ship many of your "replica" US Police Badges to the US.

At first glance it would seem to be a violation of Title 18 USC 716 (Police Badges):
(a) Whoever-
(1) knowingly transfers, transports, or receives, in interstate or foriegn commerce, a counterfeit police badge;

(c) As used in this section-
(2) the term "counterfeit police badge" an item that so resembles a police badge that it would deceive an ordinary individual into believing it was a genuine police badge.

i thought they have a clause for badge collectors,
but i'd guess you'd have to have proof...sign a notarized paper.

There are exceptions.
(b) It is a defense to a prosecution under this section that the badge is used or intended to be used exclusively-
(1) as a memento, or in a collection or exhibit;
(2) for decorative purposes;
(3) for a dramatic presentation, such as a theatrical, film, or television, production; or
(4) for any other recreational purpose.

So I guess he might be okay after all.

I can see a badge dealer not selling to a obscure person,
specially one in his home state , a local police badge.
unless the guy comes in and shows off his entire collection.
in fla they have to keep yr name and private stuff on file for a number of yrs, the law has good intentions.
maybe going "fed" with it was a lil over board.
