i'm sure this has been asked before but I have a couple because i'm a war movie nut.

    MIne:

    1.Saving Private Ryan
    2. Green Berets
    3. We Were Soldiers
    4. Black Hawk Down

    My absolute favorites
Sgt. Siek: Now to the rest of you, do you have what it takes to be the meanest, the cruelest, the most sadist unforgiving mother ****ers in God's cruel kingdom?
    All Marines: Yes, Staff Sergeant.
Sgt. Siek: Will you be able to one day say, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I am the baddest mother ****er in the God damn valley?"
    All Marines: Yes, Staff Sergeant.
Sgt. Siek: We shall ****ing see.

Not sure if it counts as a war movie but The Last Castle is a favorite of mine. Others include....

    Saving Private Ryan
    Restrepo
Band of Brothers (its a movie to me...)
    Thirteen Days
    The Hurt Locker

I want to see Taking Chance, but it seems like it would be one of the saddest movies so I am having trouble bringing myself to watch it.
This show is awesome, wrapped in supercool and smothered in bitchin. The only way it could be cooler is if he was riding a unicorn or something.

I love Band of Brothers and Restrepo was probably one of the best afghanistan documentaries i have ever seen. But The Final Countdown=most intense sci fi/war movie ever, like who thinks of something like that

This profession is not for people looking for positive reinforcement from the public. Very often it can be a thankless job and you can't desire accolades, because those are not usually forthcoming. Just do your job to the best of your ability and live with the decisions you've made.

I think a good war movie is one that is so good and realistic enough, that you can't watch it often.

                            Saving Private Ryan
                            Black Hawk Down
                            We Were Soldiers

Band of Brothers gets honorable mention. As for actual quality, I wold put it just ahead of SPR. Being a mini series, I don't count it as an actual movie.
I yell "PIKACHU" before I tase someone.
