  • New motorcycle rally

They've announced the 1st ever motorcycle rally at The Lake Of The Ozark in Mo.. Now, that I've discovered it just happens to fall on my 3 day weekend and I won't have to work it, I'm so much more excited! LOL Take care and BE SAFE!

LAKE OF THE OZARKS - The lake area will continue to rock and roll into the fall season with a growing lineup of events.

In addition to the Lake Rescue Shoot out Aug. 25-26 and the Offshore Super Series National Championship races coming in September, the first annual Lake of the Ozarks Bike Fest motorcycle rally is generating a lot of excitement.

Organizers predict the event Sept. 13-17 will draw thousands of bike enthusiasts to the tri-county area.

This first-time event for the Lake of the Ozarks has been strategically placed in between the Sturgis Bike Rally that ends Aug. 12 and the Bike And Blues BBQ in Fayetteville, Ark., rally that begins Oct. 3.

Sponsored by Budweiser, FullThrottleMidwest.com, Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitor Bureau, Tri-County Lodging Association, Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson, Horny Toad Entertainment Complex, Backwater Jacks, Dog Days, Tan-Tar-A, Shady Gators, Shorty Pants Lounge, The Fish Tank, Wobbly Boots, and Peckers Dueling Piano Bar, the Bike Fest is already drawing interest.

'We are very fortunate that several major business owners at the lake have unified their efforts to bring this new event to our area,' Tri-County Lodging Association Director Jim Divincen said. 'The demographics of the motorcycle community has changed dramatically over the past 10 years and consists of doctors, attorneys, and other professionals that we would anticipate substantial economic impact.'

The bike festival in Fayetteville draws a crowd of nearly 100,000 participants every year.

Hoping to create that type of success and following here at Lake of the Ozarks, the sponsors have come up with a full lineup of non-stop activities including poker runs, ultimate fighting events and major concert venues throughout the weekend. Acts include Thomas Martinez, Jimmy Van Zant, Foghat, Molly Hatchett, Marshall Tucker Band, Uncle Kracker and tentatively scheduled Hank Williams, Jr.

Anheuser-Busch has announced plans to run a special edition Budweiser can that will be introduced soon to promote the festival.

The biggest names in water sports stop here for the Offshore Super Series National Championship in September.

The Shoot Out will kick off the major fall events. The annual event draws a large contingent of racers who vie for the Top Gun honors. The event raises money for lake area fire districts' rescue units.

In September, top racing teams will compete for the number one spot, piloting offshore boats over a six-mile, 16-lap course between the 6- and 9-mile markers in the offshore national championship series.

The three-day race event is scheduled for Sept. 28-30. Other events are being planned in conjunction with the races that will conclude with a concert on the final day of the series.

The Horny Toad Entertainment Complex will serve as the host resort for the racers and race teams.

Divincen, who also serves on the Missouri Tourism Commission, said events such as the Lake of the Ozarks Bike Fest, held in our shoulder season, provide a great opportunity to enhance tourism expenditures for the Lake of the Ozarks area and for the state of Missouri.

Tourism is Missouri's second largest industry behind only agriculture.
