I assume that you have a firearm and ammo. I'd think about adding a small hatchet. Lifeboat water packets and lifeboat emergency rations are pretty cool as well and have a long shelf life. I also have some small candles and a small compass.

Generally speaking, it is best not to wander away from your vehicle, so weight is not a major factor. A tote in the trunk can have gloves, spare socks, flannels, etc.
