    If you have experience with EOD robots, please continue reading.

    We are looking for experienced PackBot or Talon operators to spend about 30 minutes playing an online game by Nov 30, 2019. The purpose of the game is to determine what camera viewpoints are best for what kinds of tasks. You probably have noticed that in some situations it is helpful to have a second robot provide a helpful view. We are attempting to formalize what views are helpful for which tasks, so that we (and other researchers) can then program the second robot or robot arm to provide that view automatically. Your participation will make this happen so we appreciate you taking that time. Plus we will send you a Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue patch.

    In the video game simulator using a web browser, you will control a robot (you pick either a Talon or a PackBot - the one you are the most comfortable with) and perform 4 basic tasks from different camera viewpoints. You have to answer a few questions and will be given directions in written English. The whole simulation game, including an introductory training practice session, should take less than 30 minutes and we ask that you complete the game without breaks. The simulation only runs from a Google Chrome browser, but that is the only specific requirement. The simulation does not use a joystick or any special controllers. You will move the robot, arm, and gripper through the keypad; while this is a bit slow and not the way you would normally control the robot, it ensures that no one has to have a specific type of game controller and that we can equally compare the performance of everyone who participates.
