    Has anyone had it done?

How much did it cost you and was it worth it?

I'm curious myself, I have like 20/30 in my left and 20/45 in my right. Enough that I need glasses for driving to see license plates and signs but not enough to need glasses for out fo the car stuff.

    Plus I don't think I'd like contacts.

Done 5 yrs ago. Great and easy as can be. Cost is not the issue the guys who do it cheaper are just no buying as big a mansion as the guy charging more. You just have to do independent research on doctor of choice.

Had night halos when looking at headlights for about six months but other then that it was the best decision I ever made .

There are two different procedures for eye vision correction. LasEk and LasIk.

I had lasek done and spent $3000 for the surgery and I say, it as well spent dollas.

Had mine 1.5 years ago. I went from 20/400+ to 20/20. The costs will vary so just find someone well known and respected IMO. I had what is called Custom View Lasik.

Is it worth it? HELL YES I would have paid double what I paid with these results after wearing glasses for 20+ years.

As Bodie stated...I had/have the night halo effect also. I only notice it now when driving at night while it's raining.

          GL with it...you'll love it

Going on two years for me. Love it. Had lasik done and only had a bit of halo's at night for about four months. Not bad! If you are a good candidate for lasik I would do it! Research the place you want to go to. I made a trip to Sacramento to do mine. It was the difference between $5000 or $1800. Did research on it for about a year before I decided to do it. Still have 20/20 , and still love waking up and being able to SEE the time on the clock.

Yes, $3,500.....for both eyes I did not have it done in canada ( not a knock on the canadians)...I picked my eye surgeon and he specializes in cornea surgery.

was it worth it....every penny. 20/400 to 20/15....no halos or starbursts.

it took a year to get the guts to do it.....but my med reinbursment account would have run out at the end to the year.

I had it done 4 years ago. My vision was 20/15 after the surgery and still is. (That's better than 20/20 not worse).

It was under $1,000 (just barely) and worth every penny. I figure I have probably saved that much on contacts, glasses & solution already.

I also had no halo problems or any complications. I told the doc I was concerned about them & he said he set laser to a wider area (He claimed halos are a result of when your pupils dilate at night and get to the edge of the corrected area you get halos because of the change of the contour of your eye there) to prevent them.

I had mine done about 14 months ago and don't regret it one bit. With out glasses i was legally blind, but now I am 20/25. I see small halos at night but i can still see street signs and license plates without glasses. If you have dry eyes than expect to have drier eyes afterwards. I had dry eyes before and they are noticibly drier now, but its been a few months since i have had to use eyedrops.

I dont mind wearing glasses, so i cant see myself ever doing it.

Thanx for posting this question 3B. I am considering it, myself.

                      BTW, where'd the legs go?
Do you realize that in about 40 years, we'll have thousands of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Going on 4 1/2 years now & well worth it!

I had Lasik done 4 1/2 years ago and I'm seeing 20/15. It's the best thing I've done. Mine cost $4,000 and I went to a Lasik specialist who I researched well. I know people who have just went with the cheapest place and have had problems or had to have corrections done. I recommend going to the laser manufacturers' websites and getting the numbers (i.e. # of procedures, % of corrections, etc.) that they recommend a doctor have before they consider him/her qualified. Then research doctors to find ones who have these numbers and see if you can talk to other patients. I was allowed to speak with other patients and watch a surgery before deciding whether to go with my doctor. Also, check into their post-surgery care. Some of the places do not include post-surgery checkups or medications (you use a few different eye drops for a few months after surgery) in the cost of the Lasik. Also, find out if the doctor turns anyone away. Not everyone is suitable for Lasik, but some doctors will do it on anyone for the money. Do the research and go with the best doctor. We're talking about your eyesight for the rest of your life.

Your welcome. I am tired of spending so much money on contact lens and glasses. I have had lens for almost 15 years. So I added up how much they cost for four boxes = 80.00. So if I bought atleast 10-12 boxes per year times that by 15 years. I could've been able to see perfectly if I had heard about this sooner.

                          Damn!!

I took the legs away. They are still somewhere on my profile and attached to my body. Besides, doesn't the baby look so cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Sheesh... I don't want a bad rep for always posting legs and heels.

I had lasik done about 4 yrs. ago and love it.
If you do a search on the threads, you will find another lasik thread that was started about 1 month ago that has some good info on it.

No complaints, w/ the procedure. I was back to work within 2 days.
I work nights and it was a little different the first week or so, but then I got use to it!!!
