  • Hurricane Party at my House

Everybody is invited to the great and wonderful hurricane party in New Orleans. Come to the fishbowl (New Orleans) and watch the city get swallowed up while sipping on your own hurricane.

Well they have just said the hurricane is on a direct path straight for New Orleans at eventually category 4 strength. Ever year it's seems like they are just waiting for the big one to come and cover the entire city with water since we are already below sea level. The parish below has already been ordered evacuated so it should be a matter of hours before we get the evac orders. So anybody wanted to come on down and ride out the storm, come on. PARTY PARTY PARTY. I'm getting the drinks going right now!!

        Im outta here!

Well with 175 mph winds and a category 5, I'm leaving my house in New Orleans with as much of the important stuff as I can take. I don't expect to have much left of my house if it's like they say it will be. Hopefully someone will be watching over us and that won't be the case. in about 5 hrs and 30 mins all roads out will be shut down. So now the hurricane party is moving north about 4 hours. BYOB!!

I'm in Slidell, 40 miles North of New Orleans. My family is staying, and we have some New Orleans family members coming up.

My ex-sis-in-law (still good friends) lives in Long Beach, MS. i'm guessing they're evacuated too as i couldnt get her on the phone.

Good luck to all down there...stay safe...

I bet many people had this same mentality before it hit - especially a lot that stayed behind. I am sure that you started this post in jest.

Frog, how did you fare during Katrina?

We're getting ready for Rita here outside of Houston, so guess it's our turn to host the next Hurricane Party!

I went back to my house last week and suprisingly I did well. I had a lot of roof damage most shingles gone, but nothing came in my house. My fence was screwed up and places and I had a couple trees laying sideways. I have several pics I took, but I just need to get them on the internet. If anybody happens to want to see them I know everyone has most likely seen plenty just pm me.
My work did not fare so well. It had a foot of water and most of the restaurant is a mess. It will be a while before I can work at that specific location. They are opening a different location, which they better hurry. I'm not too excited about paying rent for a place I can't live in. But I am was very fortunate unlike a lot of people I know. I'll be thinking of everyone in Texas cause I know exactly what people will be going through.
Oh and yes the hurricane party was just trying to keep myself in good spirits. Actually the school that I go to has a yearly hurricane party, which has been cancelled twice in the last four years due to a real hurricane.
