  • So Long for Now Dear Friend

Well I just got finished saying goodbye to a close friend of mine. He is leaving tomorrow for Fort Benning and Army Basic Training. It is bittersweet for me because I am so proud of what he is doing, but I wish I were going with him. Unfortunately, that's the way things work out and you try your best to deal with it.

I knew this day was coming but it still sucks. I feel selfish because I can't help but feel sorry for the fact that I probably will never serve in the military. But as I said, you learn to deal.

Just wanted to get that out there, writing sometimes helps.

And kneecaps, I'm assuming. I've known a lot of guys who did the jump school thing.
STFU! Another great suggestion from the same mind that brought you "Kiss my butt" and "Leave me alone"

      Why not?

I'm glad that your friend has enlisted. You NEED to write him letters especially during basic. In basic he won't be able to get email, so write him real letters. It helps, and it'll mean alot to him, even if he can't write you back all the time.
