I just started watching the Shield TV show and I like it. I just wish we could legally treat some of the dirtbags that way. The crime rate would go way down. My question or comment is this. Anyone notice that all of the "officers" wear there badge on right side of their chest. What's up with that. Any Dept in the US do that? Are they just stupid or just plain dumb.

The Shield used to have LAPD uniforms and badges for their actors but the LAPD withdrew their endorsement from the show. As a result, the show had had to use different badges and wear them on the wrong side so they wouldn't be copying the LAPD uniform.Hail hail the gang's all here, when the going gets tough I know my friends will still be there. - Drop Kick Murphys, "The Gang's all Here"Comment

Other shows and movies have replicated the LAPD uniform. They can only do so when LAPD grants their consent though.Hail hail the gang's all here, when the going gets tough I know my friends will still be there. - Drop Kick Murphys, "The Gang's all Here"Comment

I can't imagine why the LAPD would disavow this show just because the original title of the show was "Rampart" and it was loosely based on the real life events of the special drug enforcement squad of the LAPD rampart division which was later found to be totally corrupt where the officers were stealing drugs and hoarding money.Comment

I would not and could not work for a department that operated in this manner nor any of its officers. I wouldn't even call this entertainment. I always took pride and honor in serving the public, I think this show is a disgraceComment

That is not actually true. Theatrical productions are exempt from the "impersionation" laws. The reason you see so many screwups is because the produces don't care.Hail hail the gang's all here, when the going gets tough I know my friends will still be there. - Drop Kick Murphys, "The Gang's all Here"Comment
