I was shooting a gunnery at Ft Hunter-Ligget and had a filling fall out.

Went to Presido of Monterey for a temporary filling, and they were in-processing new AF students into DLI.

I nearly fell out of the dentist's chair...

Ugh! I was in when they changed to AF looking uniforms, maybe 1974. Blue dress suit, light blue shirts, ties. We hated it. They abandoned the idea, I guess one nerd branch was enough.

Cool! OK next. Are the bell bottoms really for filling up with air when you jump overboard?

They were like that so you could get them off without having to take off your boondockers. They aren't around anymore though. Supposedly, the NWU is large enough to get them off without removing boots, but I don't think so. Also, they arent worn underway unless you are security. Everyone is wearing the FRV's now, or like me, flight deck gear.

Indeed... I unfortunately had earned myself a trip to the hospital last year. So in comes my orthopedist and she is an absolute babe. Turns out she is in the AF and was doing her residency at this hospital. I am considering injuring myself again so I have an excuse to go back and see her...
