  • ISIS Beheads American Journalist

    Mission creep, here it comes.

Probably a retaliation for our air strikes in Iraq.

As some of us have argued on the Iraq thread, a half-a** approach isn't going to work. It never does.

Obama has no strategy. He should've either stuck to his cowardly stance of getting completely out and staying out (which is why Iraq collapsed in the first place) or come up with a real strategy that gets the job done.

But he will continue to do things ad hoc, and when ISIS punches back, it will be impossible for Obama to match their tit for tat. Because ISIS is serious about what the *uck it's doing, unlike our CINC.

We need to send the POTUS, the AG, and all of Congress over there right now to solve this problem.

The Iraqi state collapsed in 2003 under weight of the US invasion and occupation. Not that it was that strong to begin with. Getting out, and staying out, looks like a good plan.

That's the liberal stance that, frankly, I'm getting sick of hearing (not from you, 2002, just talking in general). There was a long list of reasons we went in to Iraq, not just WMD. Every intelligence agency around the world we associated with said WMD was there, not just George Bush. I posted a thread showing video of Bill Clinton saying there was WMD there. We have in fact seen the chemical WMD show up in Syria. It's the reason Obama gave for setting the red line in Syria last year. And lastly, if nuclear WMD was also moved before our troops got there, the public isn't going to know unless we invade that country to get 100% verification. Do you think Bush or any other president would be willing to do that just to prove their existence? Would never happen.

O'Bama has been willing to do a lot of things just to prove his existence.

We learned how "intelligent" those agencies were didn't we, when we found *no* WMD's at all, we were suckered in and we got stuck there, now were still stuck over there with that kraphole that hates our guts, never wanted us to even touch their precious holy soil with our dirty, unholy, unclean people, who burns our flag and kills our people.

Let the whole place cave in, and fall apart from their own civil war and crazyness for all I care.

I'm surprised the CIC hasn't gone on television and mentioned that the police....I mean ISIS should not engage in brutality. Aahh shucks, he'll probably do it tonight. I have faith he'll use calm and even words to sooth things.

No offense, Sculptor, but you have very little working knowledge about this subject.

And let's get back to your assertion no WMD was found. Not found where????? Did you not read my post? The best the liberal left and liberal media could claim is it wasn't found INSIDE Iraq. They can't speak to whether it was moved out of Iraq. And yet that's the conventional liberal mantra everyone falls prey to.

The liberal mantra doesn't work anymore. It's unraveling faster than a ball of yarn, starting with Obama claiming he couldn't get a SOFA agreement, to him claiming he left a stable Iraq, to him claiming the Iraq War was over, to him claiming there would be no way we'd go back in.....and the list goes on.

Chemical weapons were found,Its been stated by many who were there and saw them first hand. Most were from years earlier and what had been used against the Kurds and Iran. Its also been stated by those who were there and not in the media that most of Saddam's weapons went to across the border to Syria right before the invasion. It isnt like he didnt know we were coming .Hell CNN was showing pictures and Jeraldo Rivera was giving locations at one point till they ran him out for his stupidity.

Guess where Syria got what they have been using on their own people .

None taken Emma, I'm just so sick and tired of Iraq, nothing short of taking Iraq out with nukes is going to solve the problem that has been ongoing there for hundreds of years and now involves us.
If we think sending a few planes to bomb here and there like we are now in a country the size of Iraq is going to solve all this we are mistaken, all we are doing is little more than trying to empty Lake Michigan with a sump pump

Not found in Iraq and never proven to have been moved anywhere either, and even all these years later the claimed WMDs still have not shown up, no nuclear tipped missiles, no atomic bombs, no inter-continental cruise missiles, zippo.
Even Sadaam and his military were a paper tiger joke, all yap and threats and no substance.

This WMDs in Iraq became like the Gulf of Tonkin "incident," flawed Intelligence prompted
the decision for war in Vietnam, President Johnson ordered U.S. bombers to "retaliate" for a North Vietnamese torpedo attack that never happened.

                        Chemical weapons were found,
Chemical weapons are not the "WMDs" we were led to believe they were, i.e. NUCLEAR MISSILES capable of striking the United States. "Everyone and their brother" has chemical weapons, even we have/had the stuff, and have for ages- nerve gas, and more.

Mustard gas in Iraq is not a direct threat to the United States, a nuclear missile capable of striking Chicago *IS*

Wrong, Chemical weapons were also part of it.And part of what was feared would be brought here and used here.Their missiles were actually not thought to even be able to reach the US as they were inter-continental missiles. The main fear was they would use them against Israel and start a full nuke reaction from them.

There's a movement called #ISISmediablackout to deny ISIS the propaganda value of the beheading so pictures and videos are being removed quickly everywhere. Social media showing its positive power.
