  • What would you do with $312,000,000?

Mega Millions jackpot is est at 312mil tonight, maybe higher depending on ticket sales up to the drawing.
Who has their tickets? What would you do if you won?

I got my $5 quick pick today.

If I won I would report to work as scheduled tomorrow and fill out a leave of absence form then leave, once I claimed my prize I would call in and tell them my locker combo to get all thier stuff back! As much as I like this job it's still a job and who needs one of those with hundreds of millions, not me!

Then a month or so in Fiji or some other small pacific island. When I got back I'd move out of CA forever, and hire a few accountants to make sure I'd never ever have to worry about anything ever again.

I'd get my fixed wing and rotor craft licenses and travel around flying helicopters in awesome places for the pure fun of it.

Oh yeah, I might get the wife a new car and some flowers

You've listed several things I would never do.... I wouldnt travel out of country and risk being killed and not being able to spend my money . I wouldnt get into any aircrafts and die and risk not being able to spend my money, I wouldnt put in my 2 weeks i'd rather get fired. I would purchase a very very large piece of property somewhere in the middle of the desert and have a custom build home right smack dab in the middle of it.. then I would build a very very large racetrack around my house and charge people to race on it which would generate some awesome income. I would buy any car I want.

I'd give a big hunk of it away to charities and family members. I'd also quit my job and move. Even if you wanted to stay employed as an officer, everytime you wrestled with someone or put them in handcuffs you'd find yourself as the defendant in a multi-million dollar law suit.

Put it in the bank. Live off the interest, do the job for fun. When I retire, teach. Pay straight cash for everything. No lay-away or installments. No credit card either (still have one for emergencies, but no big purchases).

Take care of everybody in my immediate family. Put them within their means, but in a good setup. They need something reasonable, I'll get it for em. No Ferraris... I'm a humble guy. And, if I lose everything (I'd probably put it in my wife's name or something to protect it all from LE related suits), I'm no worse off than I was before.

Invest in businesses and grow my wealth. Hopefully own a sports franchise when I grow my wealth enough.

When I die, leave explicit instructions that my family inherits the money with the same conditions. Live humbly and take care of things. When they begin buying things on a secret forbidden list left with the courts, the money and my businesses will be forfeited and donated to charity. Selfishness will not be tolerated!

I would pay an enormous amount of money in taxes.

In order to reduce taxes and provide a steady source of income, I would donate much of it to a charitable remainder unitrust.

Start my company now instead of slaving away saving up the money.

Oh and buy a ton of country property and host music festivals. My own Ozzfests!
Yeah. That would go poorly. Like, on the Scale of Fail, somewhere between "Titanic" and "Chernobyl."

Give Charlie Sheen a run for his money.....

Wait, did I say that out loud? I meant to say give 10% to the church, invest in my community and be good boy.

I would not stop working. I would however take a nice vacation. (the fact that I have 2/5 weeks to take before December helps!)
