  • I just don't get it sometimes.

I FINALLY have gotten my friends to understand that I really am happy single. If I have a guy friend great, if they need to meet him they will. I am not dying for a boyfriend and relationship. If and when it happens great. I'm not throwing myself out right now for reasons.
I also have set my Mom straight about kids. basically IF I wanted them I would done something to have them (married or not) by this time. I am a 40 year old adult right!?

    Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
My new coworker can NOT get it. She has tried 3 times in 4 months to set me up. I told her to stop I'm happy and not looking. Then she ask....why not just go out get a kid so you have someone.......living with ya. (I truly wanted to slap this idiot)

get it straight peeps. I DO NOT WANT KIDS. I am very happy to not change diapers and have screaming, crying kids to cook for when I come home. I don't have to cook if I don't want to. and best of all If I want chocolate cake for breakfast, I can damnit I can.

The boyfriend thing.......I have my eye one someone(but not looking ).....just don't tell him.

You don't have to tell me a thing, and it's ok we don't have to be BF/GF we can just be friends, I am cool with that.

Not everyone wants to have kids for any number of reasons. Many people find that hard to believe but kids are not for everyone even if they are capable to take care of them responsibly.

A young woman goes back home to attend the wedding of a family member. She is escorted by a groomsman to a pew near the front of the church & finds herself seated next to her grandmother. About half way through the wedding ceremony her grandmother pokes the young woman, leans over, and whispers "you're next."

A few months later another member of the family has decided to tie the knot, so the young woman returns to her hometown for the wedding. While seated in the pew she finds that her grandmother being escorted to sit beside her. Sure enough, the grandmother was soon sitting beside her granddaughter. At about the midpoint of the service the grandmother pokes the young woman, leans over, and whispers "you're next."

Unfortunately the following month the young woman lost her uncle to natural causes. She returns home yet again, this time for a solemn, sad rite. She enters the church & finds her grandmother seated in a pew near the front again. She walks up to her grandmother, greets her, and sits.

Midway through the funeral the young woman pokes her grandmother, leans over, and whispers in her ear "you're next."

            texaschickeee,
            You're 40? you don't look a day over 24, (avatar).

            This is from mmy wife...

            1. Don't imagine you can change a man - unless he's in diapers.
            2. What do you do if your boyfriend walks out? You shut the door.
            3. If they put a man on the moon - they should be able to put them all up there.
            4. Never let your man's mind wander - it's too little to be out alone.
            5. Go for the younger man. You might as well, they never mature anyway.
            6. Men are all the same - they just have different faces, so that you can tell them apart.
            7. Definition of a bachelor: a man who has missed the opportunity to make some woman miserable.
            8. Women don't make fools of men - most of them are the do-it-yourself types.
            9. Best way to get a man to do something is to suggest he is too old for it.
            10. Love is blind, but marriage is a real eye-opener.
            11. If you want a committed man, look in a mental hospital.
            12. The children of Israel wandered around the desert for 40 years. Even in Biblical times, men wouldn't ask for directions.
            13. If he asks what sort of books you're interested in, tell him checkbooks.
            14. Remember a sense of humor does not mean that you tell him jokes, it means that you laugh at his.

I can relate, oddly enough. Despite the fact that I am still, technically speaking, married (we've been separated since his arrest on April 28th, divorce is still working its way through court), I'm getting the "soon as your divorce comes through, go get the annulment, and oh, by the way, there's this guy ..." Uh, no. Just no. I don't ever want to go through this hell again, and there's no guarantee that any other guy wouldn't eventually put me through it (not to mention that whole thing about how I'm still, technically, *MARRIED*). #8 in OneAdam12's list is so appropriate when talking about STBX.

Of course, I do have the four children, so I'm not alone in the house, but I do *NOT* need to take up with another man "just so they can have a man in the household" or provide them with "a new daddy". Now I have to admit to being 45 (since the 3rd), but I've managed quite well in the past 10 months without a man in the household. In fact, the house has been so much cleaner with less effort, I can't fathom why I'd want to mess things up now that we've got our family of 5 working pretty well.

I know what she means. People are always pushing the subject. Especially, if they know you are dating..then want all the details. It's something that is really none of their business. Besides, if you do tell them, they have you married with kids and divorced all in one sentence.

We all go through our moods. I think we stay in that mood sometimes until we do see someone we want. It's kind of like not being hungry until it's dinner time.

I'm trying to remember what comedienne said something about people who were always nagging, "When are you going to get married? All your friends are getting married."
Her retort: "You don't say to an old person 'When are you going to break your hip? All your friends are breaking their hips'."

DACP You know I love ya. I just can't commit right now....
Adam12- love the list. I have known for a long time that I can change none but me. Others haven;t gotten that memo.
Jane- I know your story, it has broke my heart. I feel for you and the kids. your right you never know the other person really.
Exdus, I have my eye on him but I am debating if its worth the energy. I see a lot there that I like, and there are some things I'm waiting to see if they turn to flags.

For the record, I have been on my own, bills paid and living la vida loca for the past 15 years. I told the last one, I am not shacking up. too old to play barbie livin. Its all or nothing, thats where I AM now.

M11....I have 3 cats and 1 dog. do I really need more cats? (please say no)

It's ok I understand, but for the record I was willing to take my finger out of my nose for you.
