WIC, This has me fuming!

So, at some point WIC added a veggie entitlement. I'm walking thru the frozen food aisle and notice that Food Lion has signs on certain items, frozen veggies, that say WIC approved. OK, but this gets me furious. I buy 2 lb bag of store brand frozen green beans on sale for $1.88. A person with a WIC check can buy Birds Eye Steam fresh veggies, $ 2.69 for 12 ounces. WIC checks are for an item not a dollar amount.
So I pay .058 per ounce yet someone who sits around on their *** and lives off of my money that is stolen from me by the gov't can buy the veggies that cost .224 per ounce. What's wrong with this picture???

Let's just clarify one thing. While serving in the USMC my wife and I qualified for WIC for our newborn son and as I recall it, I wasn't sitting around on my *** doing nothing. I'm not saying WIC or any other government program is without it's faults but in my opinion a more significant issue in this country are the idiotic sweeping stereotypes perpetrated by the ignorant.

WIC has it's purposes, but like anything it's abused. What really picks me off is the fact that a member of the active duty military needs assistance just to get by.

I have no problem with you getting WIC because my tax dollars should have been taking care of you to begin with.........

I have a problem with some procreating ghetto slug living off my money.

Not wanting to get reamed here....but I would think that the people who run the WIC program would want to help out items with that have more quantity.

When I buy food to donate I try to stretch my dollar as far as it can go with big bags/boxes of store brand stuff....

It's very simple. They want to get the best deal for your money. If someone told you that you could have any car you wanted, would you choose a bargain-basement subcompact?

This could be prevented by designing the program differently. Why not give WIC vouchers by dollar amount, allocated to specified categories?

My point is that the gov't gives someone a check for a comodity and that person can afford to spend four times the amount I can on the same item. Meanwhile the gov't has stolen my money and given it to that person. I'm referring to the welfare slime.

Someone serving our country in the military should be paid more!! That is not a waste of my tax dollars!!!!

I think when I do my taxes I'll deduct the difference and enclose a detailed accounting, wonder what the IRS will think of that? Hmmm, fines for me,

What makes me hot, is when I see the person infront of me buying King crab legs....and expensive steaks, and all the while sipping on there $5.00 star bucks coffee. Their little one is saying they want a juice and there yelling at them that they don't have no money............... WTF

I love our government, they tell me I make too much money for food stamps I make 250 dollars a week, if I'm lucky

We've got WIC now, we get the dollar amount in Veggies. 6$ per kid. So I get 12$ a month for veggies. Holy Moly Did I get ALOT of frozen veggies. 1lb for .88.
Thing I hate about WIC is they tell me how to feed my son cause he's so skinny. Yeah, he's thin, but he also has Autism and will NOT eat certain foods.. We try with what we got, it's the best we can do right now

I remember getting out of the military due to disabilty and having absolutely nothing! Nothing! A wife, a 4 year old daughter a newborn. I HAD to get wic and I was ashamed, ashamed, ashamed! But it helped and I never took advantage of it. I could have lived off unemployment but I got a job that paid less than what I was getting..boy was my wife ****ed..but i could not sit at home being lazy. Then I got my job as a LEO and its still tough .. but i'm not one for a free ride.

So everyone on any type of goverment assistance is someone who sits on their *** and eats off of your stolen money? Just seeing if I have it right.
