  • Why do politics so often blend with post responses?

Though I am new here and not wanting to offend anyone, I notice that politics often enter into discussion in places where it generally isn't applicable.

I was just curious if this is a big trend here, or are there just select members who feel strongly enough about their views that they tend to insert them when it really doesn't apply.

I really am not trying to offend anyone here, but was more curious. I created this thread, as the topic I most recently noticed this trend in was in a section where LEO's are only allowed to reply.

It all depends on the question asked. The majority of LEOS are usually conservative by nature of our job since the majority of suspects and defense attorneys are usually liberal. If you conducted a survey on political affiliation most sworn police officers and their families would identify with a conservative point of view.

The court system in which we work is profoundly saturated with liberal (Pro Bad Guy) defense issues, biased jurists who have been arrested and have a general disdain for police, and media bias towards the criminal in larger urban areas such as where I work.

Welcome to O.com, where every sentence written is analyzed for its "liberal" vs. "consvervative" implications, where the world is divided neatly into "black and white," "good" (conservative) and "evil (liberal), where history is re-written to transform everything progressive that was ever accomplished into a conservative achievement, because nothing good could possibly be liberal.

      You are a quick study.

Now watch the fur fly and the SHTF.

I think it's partially because law enforcement by it's nature heavily involves domestic policy (drug laws, etc).

Good to see I'm not the only one whose noticed the trend. Not that I expected to be, but wanted to be sure it wasn't a taboo subject to bring up. I realize most LEOs probably identify with a conservative policy, but I was just amazed to see instances where politics, or attacks on certain politicians make an appearance in a way that really doesn't relate to the subject at hand.

Anywho . . . thank you for the welcome

Sleeping Giant. They're not fat and happy anymore. They are hungry and increasingly angry. That is not a good recipe for a "Puppies and Rainbows America".

It ****es me off, but I think you (or whoever you quoted) are right. It's absolutely saddening that socialism can thrive for the simple reason that most people are intellectually blind.

Everyone knows that it is all Obama's fault that this forum gets off topic.

Because 90% of people are such passive agressive sissys, they never argue with anyone in real life. This is their only outlet, where they can say idiotic things all day from the safe anonymity of the computer.

I've thought the same thing myself when reading. I've done some serious looking in the mirror on this topic. I try to be as diligent as possible to not post words here, that I would not say to that person. Many times I catch myself. Thanks for the input.

Most people fail because they trade what they want MOST, for what they want at the MOMENT.

Is it any surprise that cops don't trust anyone?
