  • A question regarding "home businesses"

Does anybody here have, or know anyone who does have one of those home businesses? And I don't mean DIY internet porn!

You know, we hear about them all the time on the radio like, "Andy Willloughby's Three-Step plan."

Lots of people do gun shops out of thier homes. Check your local zoning laws.

You could probably find the same info for free from government sources, or even the BBB.

I've done the home-based sales thing (Princess House/Pampered Chef) and also started up a non-for-profit PTO for my son's school. It's takes a lot of organization to work out of your home.

For many years before I retired I ran a business out of my home restoring and selling antique slot machines. The tax advantages (write offs) of a home business were excellent.

Why do you say that? Lots of people love goat milk soap. I supply a local bed and breakfast. Search on line to see what people pay for goat milk soap.

I do pretty good selling t-shirts, mobilia and of course my publications off of my website, Amazone and such.

Not exactly Macey's, but with the tax advantages, I do get some great write offs and a new computer every year! I can depreciate my scanners, printers, faxes, etc and even my pick up! All legal!

Go for it, Keith! What do you have in mind?

Kieth, most people sell things from their cars or on the corner. I would stop by at any local corner and ask them how you can be a good salesperson.

Kieth, if you already have an idea for a business I can give you the basic rundown on getting your business license, zoning, taxes etc. Not a big deal. We used to have a photography business. (not porn) We would sell wildlife and landscape photos. Got out of it several years ago.
