  • Computer Problem (Volume/Sound)

    Hey everyone,

I've been searching the internet, called a few friends, and have not been able to find the solution to my problem. So before I call the computer company I thought I would post my problem here and maybe I could get some help.

For some unknown reason the little volume icon that is normally located at the bottom right-hand corner of computer screen is no longer there, thus I am unable to get any volume from my computer. It's the little icon that looks like a speaker that sits next to the time display. I don't know how to bring it back and I can't find anywhere else on my computer to receive volume.

Anyone have any suggestions or know what to do?

    Any help is greatly appreciate,

    Thanks!

I think you can click Run and then type in Vol for volume control.

On mine you can go to:

      Start
      then Control Panel
      then Sounds, Speech, Audio
      then Sounds, Audio

Right click on the task bar-->> properties-->>customize. Check if the status of your volume control is set to hide always. If so, change it to always show.

I go to SOUNDS under the CONTROL PANEL and all that's there is sounds for clicking around the computer, sound for turning the computer on/off, for e-mail, etc. Just can't find the volume tab.

are you getting any sound at all? if not sounds like your sound driver may have been corrupted or deleted. if you want PM me your computer info and i'll have my husband take a look at it, he is a computer tech.
