Boots

Hello,

I have gone through some of these pages looking into boots and attire for the academy. In your professional experience, what are the best boots to buy (within reason). My dep’t stated I do not have to buy from the designated uniform store, but I am not trying to buy crap and pay for it with sore feet for six months lol. Can anyone recommend a specific boot that is regarded as the best boot for the academy?

I had 5.11, 6 inch ATAC boots when I went to the academy in 2014. Used them all through the academy, doing security work after, and even as an officer with the state for a year. They still held up to this day minus a little wear and tear (a nice gash in the toe from going over a brick wall during a foot pursuit class). The only thing I recommend with them is to replace the insole. The ones that come with the boot wear out quickly.
