Guys from my Sheriff's Office were first responders to that scene, because of the location. Deepest condolences, we all talked about it in briefing and a couple of guys had met him, they all said he seemed like a good cop.

Tillamook County Lt. Killed in motorcycle crash

Lt John Schneidecker, Tillamook County Sheriff's office Lt, was killed July 29th, 2005, while riding his motorcycle off duty. John was in the Soutbound Lane of hwy 101 South of Tillamook, OR when a 16 year old driver pulled out and tried to pass another vehicle. The pickup struck John head on and he was dead at the scene. John was newly promoted to command the jail and was considered a real star. He probably would have been the next Sheriff, and will be missed by everyone. The 16 year old was driving on a probationary license. John leaves a wife and 3 children. The funeral will be Friday August 5th, 2005.

Anyone wishing to send a card may sendf it to: Tillamook County Sheriff's office, 5995 Long Prairie Rd, Tillamook, OR 97141.

Be safe out there - you just never know !
