It is a sad day here in Minnesota. One week after being shot and killed in the line of duty, Mendota Heights Police Officer Scott Patrick was laid to rest today.
Thousands of law enforcement officers near and far gathered in West St. Paul to give their condolences and respects to a fallen officer. Citizens gathered on the funeral route with American Flags and banners thanking Officer Patrick and all law enforcement officers for their service.
At the cemetery, American Flag draped casket on a horse drawn caisson followed by a rider-less horse escorted Officer Patrick to his final resting place.
The final radio call.
“All units: Officer Scott Patrick, Badge 2231, is out of service. End of watch, July 30, 2014. Mendota Heights Police Department Badge 2231 is 10-7".
Rest in Peace Officer Patrick, and thank you.
