I'm 42 (soon to be 43 next week) currently in the process of joining my county reserve deputy program. May move on to FT deputy if they want/need me or try with LRPD again (cut-off age is 46)... Some may think that I'm too old? Heck, I'm in better physical/mental shape than I was in High School/College!
After 9/11 five years ago, I, like many proud Americans, wanted to step up and serve in some capacity. I was 37 at the time, right at the cut-off age of joining a federal agency (also I was a few years shy of obtaining my degree, another prerequisite) So I turned locally. I took/passed the written test for LRPD, passed the PT exam, and passed the Oral, only to receive a letter a few weeks later stating the the city denied holding an academy for that fiscal year due to budget restraints...
As for my username... Did I tell you I live in Arkansas!
