A few quick questions from a writer!

Hi all!

I am an author outlining a romance novel that has some crime aspects to the story. I was wondering if any one of you has just a few minutes to answer some questions about my plot. I would tell you the parts that involve police work, and you would simply let me know if it all checks out, or if there are any holes in my knowledge. I'm sure it would be very brief, probably just one response on your part. If you don't have time to answer questions but know someone who does, I would greatly appreciate an intro as well.

Respectfully, it is kind of an unwritten rule that real officers will not respond to or help with this kind of request in the forums. We've had students use "us" to write their papers, we've had authors use "us" to sell books for profit..
More than likely it will be suggested that you go down to the local police/ sheriff department and personally ask there.
Just advising you upfront- if you post this question in other areas of these forums, you may get much more terse comments.
