I've posted a few things already but haven't introduced myself.
    I am Alexis, from Canada.
I came here strictly out of curiosity and decided to stay.
I'm thinking of joining the auxiliary program with the RCMP once I can get rid of my class 7 license. There, how's that for an introduction?
Never argue with idiots - they just drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Chaos, Panic and Disorder....my work here is done!

As her tears fell at his feet, she didn't say "I Love You," what she said meant even more: I laugh, I love, I hope, I tried. I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry and I know you do the same things too. So we're really not that different, me and you.

    So, what's a class 7 licence?

It's this stupid Graduated License program we have, first is the class 7L, your learners which you now have to have for a year, then the class 7N that you have to have for 2 years, then you can finally get your class 5 when you're done your GLP ... oh and did I mention you have to wear this humiliating green N sticker? Yeah, talk about painting us all with the same brush. I got an $84 ticket in July for not having mine just because the guy couldn't give me a ticket for what he originally pulled me over for. Made me laugh, then I realized I was $84 poorer....now that stupid sticker never comes off unless someone steals it.

I could have gotten my class 5 last year but I'm too poor to afford it.

I see. It's sort of like remedial training for automobile drivers, then. Interesting. In some of the States here they have a point system. You get too many and you lose your driving priviledges for awhile.

Yeah, I guess. I personally think it's retarded cuz they introduced it to "lower the crash statistics" or whatnot....it hasn't really changed anything, except painted new drivers all as crazy maniac types. The whole N situation is just nuts, most cops use the no-N-displayed-on-car ticket as a "oh well he's being an a**hole so BAM!" ....at least that's the general statement I get from cops I have polled.

We have a point system here too, I don't know how many you get before you lose your license though. All I know is I got a nasty letter from my insurance company stating that I'm on "probation" for the duration of my class 7 because I had gotten a ticket for having no N (although I wasn't being a jerk to the cop at the time......that I don't get) and that I could lose my license, even though the N has no point value.....I dunno....I'm just rambling now

            Aux. Program

Lexis is it? The Aux program is a great place to get your start, the party line is "The Aux program will not help you get onto the force" but that's all bull****. I was aux while I took my police and security diploma and now I'm a full constable so I think it worked. Are you in the program yet or still something your looking into?

Yeah, I have many nicknames: Lexis, Lexi, Lex.....take your pick. Teehee....Anyways, yeah I knew a cop who started out in the Aux program (we have since stopped talking, but that's for personal reasons not appropriate for this forum). I have not gone into the program yet, I am working out a lot, and I still have my class 7 license (you know, that great GLP) ....I figure I will try out in about 2 years, that way I can exercise and be in shape, and also save up enough money to get my class 5. I'm not really sure if I would like to make the RCMP my career though. I couldn't imagine really being stuck in the same job for 30 years. But, maybe that's my age talking. I would really like to test out the waters though. Who knows, I just might fall in love with it.

PS - you have the same line for your bio that my ex does on Facebook. Hahahaha. And you live in the same province.....WERD!

All I have to say is as you probably already know, that aside from your obtaining your full licence you will have to apply for a road test and written test for whatever class your province deems to be a police or "emergency vehicle" licence before applying (or during) application to the RCMP.

..err...not to mention all the other tests you have to pay for out of your pocket for application....(eyes, ears, physical).
