I am a veteran police officer 14 nearly 15 years on the job.I first was employed by a medium sized city department in Central Alabama. Later I went to the US Dept of Veterans Affairs Police primarily due to pay and benefits.(as I get older I find myself a little more concerned with such things

I am a second generation cop, and my view of the job was molded by the old line coppers I was around growing up. I believe in the old concept of a peace officer , not the legal definition , but the concept definition, where common sense, professional knowledge, and a constitutional out look flavor my view.
I will probably tick some off with my view but it won't be personal.Difference in opinion makes for interesting discussions.
