  • hello from NYC (NYPD motorcycle LT)

    Hello all,

I'm new to this web site (great stuff here) but not new to policing. I'm a LT with the NYPD, currently assigned to Highway Patrol (and staying here for the rest of my career). I love meeting new cops from anywhere, especially motorcycle cops!

    Looking forward to meeting you,

    Steve

hi,,nyc co here.....i like the site also.....i once met an lt in highway patrol who helped my friend big time...my friend was under the influence and swerving and doing dumb things...the lt pulled him over,,took his keys and told him to call a friend to drive him home,,,so my friend called me...i came over and drove my friends car back home with him in the backseat throwing up.to this day i thought the lt was an angel because theres no way an lt would do that...he saved my friend from losing everything....in nyc a lot of cops dont like cos cause their real cocky,,,,but alot of you guys show us love and we recognize that......im trying to go to your dept know,,,im almost finished with my investigation,,im just having a little problem with getting my academy training onto an official transcript.......other than that,,i hope to be on your team soon!!!!!!!

Welcome aboard from a Fellow {ex} Long Islander, born in Brooklyn. Pittsburgh cop for 10 yrs and took the plunge to the burbs. I also took the Police Motor officer course, WOW tons harder than I tought, Props to you guys that ride all day and even all year long. I had an old friend from the gym I worked at, he was at least back in the early, mid 90s a Sgt in Hwy. I wont put his name but his initials were Sgt. D.DeS.... do ya know him
                I got nothing for now

Greetings from the "desert village". I grew up in NYC & wanted to get on NYPD long ago.I have friends still "on the job". Growing up ther I can remember Hwy chasing streetracers off many of the roads there. Do you still have that problem?

Greetings, what do you ride in the NYPD Highway Patrol. Excuse my ignorance, never been to NY, only ever see NYPD on the TV. Highway Patrol never gets a look in.

Ive had about 24 years on the bikes.

We ride he BMWs, not a bad ride. I had the opportunity to ride the HD Police Road King as part of the Olympic Games(Sydney) torch relay.(HD sponsered the escort bikes).

Rode one from Central Australia (Alice Springs) to Darwin, great on the open road, a little bit cumberson around town. Have a Pic of the Olympic Games Road Kings if you would like one.

Hey HWY3LT, Whats going on up there? I'm trying to get a motor unit started here. I used to ride one in Jersey for a couple of years, boy do I miss it! Let me know if you're ever coming down this way (DE) we'll take care of you. We still have guys who are "old school".

I rode all my life, no longer able to but I loved the Road King....
