Hello to all! My name is Bob. I just retired from the Navy and decided that I wanted to pursue a dream I've always had of working as a police officer. I've weathered the year long process to be accepted on the force and I start the academy here in Honolulu on 1 September.

I've been lurking here for a while and have already gleaned priceless nuggets that will help in training and on the street.

Wish me luck! I'm glad I've kept in shape cause that academy PT will be felt by this 40 odd year old body.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello.

I worked as a Miltary Police Liaison with Hono PD back in the late 80s when I was an active duty MP. They had a retired E-8 USMC NCO go through the academy and he did quite well. Their academy is very militaryistic so you shouldn't have a problem.
