  • Hello from California!

    Hello everyone!,

I am currently serving in the United States Navy as a Master-at-Arms (Military Police). I have been in for 4 years. I am currently coming up on my seperation date. I have been applying and looking for any Law Enforcement job due to my passion and love for it. I have been on this site for a couple of weeks looking for some answers and to learn more on the process of getting a LE job. I hope I can learn even more then i already have or help anyone else. I hope to hear from all of you on future posts.

If you would be as kind as to take advice from a crusty Gunners Mate, I recommend you stay in the Reserves or National Guard when you get out. Keep that going and earn another retirement. LE is competitive and can take a long time to get into. Make sure you go to school using your GI Bill.

If someone would have told me all this when I left the Navy I would be in a much better spot. I am not in a bad place but I was not prepared for the transition to civilian life. Good Luck and Thank you for your service.
