I've been reading this forum daily for the last month or so, and finally took the plunge and registered.

I live in San Antonio Texas, and will be attending the AACOG Law Enforcement Academy starting in November. From there, I'm not sure. Right now I'm talking to the San Marcos Police Department, Luling Police Department, Lockhart Police Department, Hays County Sheriffs Office, and the Caldwell County Sheriffs Office. Those departments don't hold an academy themselves, but instead require the Basic Peace Officer Cert.

I know this post is a week old, but the Hays County Sheriff's Office has their own academy. I'm not sure when their next one will be, but I just got out of the last one there.

Either way, I'm with SMPD. I know they're testing soon. Good luck with your decision!
