I keep trying to post an avatar, but I keep getting this message:

Sorry, I guess it rectified itself.

I've given up. Not computer literate enough I guess. Can't find anything 80x80 pixels or less. All my desired ones are too large. Anyway to shrink them?

I've always wondered why some get to make their avatar 80x80 pixels, but mine is restricted to 50x50?

It's because you're so imposing, you can get your point across in fewer pixels.

I also like Photoshop for resizing, but make sure you don't try to use a complicate pic, as the smaller size and low resolution will make anything with detail messy.
STFU! Another great suggestion from the same mind that brought you "Kiss my butt" and "Leave me alone"

            Why not?

I found mine on an appliance website that was 160x120 pixels.
Copied and saved it to my hard drive.
It looked good, but it was still too big.
                  So;
I grabbed irfanview image editor from www.tucows.com.
                  Installed that.
Then I resized the pic I ripped off the appliance website to 80X60 pixels and it came out still looking good.
Then I uploaded it to www.photobucket.com
Highlighted, copied and pasted the link to here,
                  and......*drumroll*.... presto!

Both are done through the User Control Panel (User CP on the blue bar at the top.) Your avatar has to be either 50x50 or 80x80 pixels (don't know why the difference), so you may have to re-size you pic before you upload it.

For the title phrase, under "Settings and Options" go to "Edit Profile" and scroll down to "Custom User Title."

In the User CP, go to "Edit Options," then down to "Thread Dssplay Options". In the 1st section "Visible Post Elements", make sure everything is checked.
