I know that the board is monitered but the question is how often? I know that recently we have not had any problems with "outsiders" causing trouble but do we have any "offical" moderators besides the big brother? If not I suggest that we start picking or electing a few.

We do have ONE elephant buts its neither pink nor roaming. It is getting a treadmill though.

I thought the site was run by a group of firefighters? Mod's are pretty normal on police sites these days. If the owners are game I would think the members here would not take issue with the appointment of mod's.

Why?

I think the Moderators here do a great job. You know why? For one we don't know really who they are which means they're not locking every topic as soon as someone's feelings get hurt.

Some Moderators over react and don't allow a heated debate to go on. We're all adults here I don't need someone to moderate my speech. Now if it's racial slurs or profanity that's one thing but most the members here do a good job of getting on the Trolls early and few stay for long.

I commend the Mods here for not being "lock happy". They let us mix it up (see Biker thread) and let most topics run their course. It can get a bit stale if everyone always agrees on everything.

In short we don't need no stinkin' Mods...

I see your point Brick . I remember when I first came onto the boards we had them. Guys like Nightshift (wherever they went) kept it running by doing the admin stuff right then and there. They also cleaned up the inactive posts. I suppose the unknown Mods. can and o also but I'd like to put "face" with the actions.
