You really can't change the English language to suit your needs. A refugee is simply a person who flees seeking refuge. That would make them refugees. They have no home, they fled, they sought refuge in several different states. Where in that definition do you find opression???

I am not too keen on political correctness, which is usually based on some form of groupthink. I am asking about your definition of the word. During Vietnam we called people "gooks." I am sure it is easier to shoot and kill a gook than a person with a name. I see the word "thugs" bantered about here in much the same way here.

I am not anti-cop. I think you guys have an impossible job. While you say "write yer Congressman" they are the guys who set the house on fire. They often try to put it out with gasoline, which, I dunno for sure, but I don't think it has ever worked. Usually the leaders are a few steps behind the people; if the people are behind, then the "leaders" are way behind. Our elections are between Tweedledee, Tweedledum, and Tweedledumbest usually wins.

Democracy works perfectly, but we are only as strong as the weakest link.
