And people think that LEOs don't support personal firearms ownership!
Any LEO that had rather respond to a "fight in progress" involving a EDP with a ball-bat, than to a "DOA-self defense-victim standing by" has been inhaling too much Break Free
Man Fatally Shoots Bat-wielding Attacker
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Rock Hill police don't expect to file any criminal charges against a York County man who shot and killed his attacker, Capt. Charles Cabaniss says.
Edward Dixon, 57, of Rock Hill was hospitalized with head injuries after his daughter's boyfriend, Maurice A. Robinson, 21, of Charlotte, N.C., beat him with an aluminum bat Wednesday, Cabaniss said.
April Dixon, 21, who also was attacked, suffered head and shoulder injuries but was treated and released from Piedmont Medical Center, Cabaniss said.
Robinson had forced his way into the Dixon home early Wednesday and began beating the man with a bat, Cabaniss said. April Dixon was attacked on the front lawn.
In what Cabaniss described as a "heroic effort," Edward Dixon retrieved a 12-gauge shotgun from his bedroom closet, went outside and shot Robinson once at close range about 7:10 a.m. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene with a single shotgun wound to his upper chest.
Robinson's mother, Tracey, said her son had been released from a Charlotte mental hospital Tuesday morning, after being admitted for his second suicide attempt in a four-day span.

But give her a day or two, and some time to have attorneys contact her with promises of money, and she'll be doing the "he-was-a-good-boy, he-was-working, he-shoulda-shot-him-in-the-leg" bit for the cameras.
