I got a new computer. I got so tired of all the hassles, breakdowns, and slow happens I finally got off my cheap butt and bought a new one tonight with all kinds of bells and whistles. Of course, I'm going to have to fiugre out how to use them all now. I even got the little web cam and speaker thing my buddy in SD has been trying to talk me into for better than a year now. Haven't figured out how to hook it up yet but by Gosh, I own one. I'm sure all the breakdown will still happen, but I bet they happen a whole lot quicker now.

Hey Desert - if you just plug the stuff in.. and install Windows 2000, it will do all the setup for you..

Congratulations, DR! I sure would like a new one. But, this one does what I need it to do. My husband boght a nifty little computer called the E-Machine at Sam's. He paid 500$ and really, really likes it. It's not the top of the line but it does what he needs it to do.
I remember out first computer was a Packard Bell with a 14.4 modem! lol It is true, buy today and a better one comes out tomorrow. But it is so much fun when you get a new comoputer, isn't it?

Yup, I'm back in the saddle again. Came out of the whole ordeal not to badly. Lost some mobility in my neck and back to the left and I can't feel a couple of toes in my right foot but heh, all the important stuff still works. Rumor has it two guys are retiring from my old resident post and I find myself thinking about doing that again. Don't know why. I left for a reason and I would still have the crappy days off I had before, but, the wife doesn't have to work anymore so that may make things better?????? One day at time is all you can do I guess.
