  • Weekend shooting of a Jefferson County sheriff's deputy.

The smiley face of the thread was an accident

    PELHAM, Ala. --

There are new developments in the case surrounding the weekend shooting of a Jefferson County sheriff's deputy.

According to the Pelham Police Department, the deputy now admits he shot himself and was not assaulted by a burglar. The deputy initially told police that he was shot in the shoulder by a burglar when he entered his home late Saturday night.

Police said in a statement today, the deputy contacted his supervisor and admitted making up the story. Authorities said the case is under review to determine if criminal charges are warranted.

The deputy remains hospitalized. His name was withheld.

    Alonzo, I'm sorry-don't shot me

Disclaimer-I have no experience with guns, firing them etc

Was this accidental? If it was, how did he get hit in the shoulder?

Do you think he was going to commit suicide and backed out?

I am in all honesty confused how he shot himself in the shoulder, on accident.

There are no stupid questions, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

Who knows. Why do some firemen set arson fires? Something isn't right with them. Attention?
