On another forum I visit, someone started a limerick thread that's now seven pages long. I thought it would be fun to do here. And if we keep it clean -- and on topic -- maybe the moderators will keep 'em in "General Topics" for awhile.
I'll start:
There once was a cop from Nantucket,
Who kept his gear in a bucket.
It did not look so bad,
But the sergeant got mad!
Now look where he's gone and stuck it!
Remember:
~ five lines (original, nothin' dirty!)
~ lines 1, 2 and 3 - eight syllables, all three lines rhyme
~ lines 4 and 5 - six syllables, both lines rhyme
Next:
"These cuffs," cried the puke, "are too tight!"
(I'd clicked them together just right.)
He soon was reassured,
That I had always heard,
Handcuffs should fit snugger at night!
Next?
