  • James Bond - what actor played 007 the best?

The James Bond series are easily one of
my favorites. I am sure there are other
007 fans out in this croud and I was
wondering what actor you think best played
James Bond. Here is my list.

    1. Sean Connery. In my opinion, he is
by far the best James Bond. He made the
role very believable. When it came to the
physical scenes, fist fights, Connery made
it quite believable. He was athletic and
no doubt probably very tough physically
    off the screen as well.

    2. Roger Moore. He made the role believable enough to make him a good 007
in my opinion. While I think he is the
second best Bond, he is a distant
    2nd from Connery.

    3. Pierce Brosnon. Brosnon is an outstanding
actor. His role in the movie "Dante's Peak"
was superb. However, he just doesn't have
the tough guy image that Connery did, or
even what Moore did for that manner. There
was a gap in talent and believability between Connery and Moore. However, that
gap is a great deal larger between Moore
    and Brosnan.

I am not trying to bash Brosnan, he is
great actor, but the Bond charactor is just
not something he can make a believable
    charactor out of.

    4. Tim Dalton. The wimpiest charactor to
    ever play bond.

The one James Bond movie I have not seen
is "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with
George Lazenby. I have not seen a Bond
movie with him in it, so I can't rate him.

When it comes to Bond movies, I can easily
watch a Connery or Moore 007 over again. I
hope to see a new 007, but do any of you know
of any British actors that could play the role and make it believable like Connery and
    Moore did???????

f you enjoy Connery and Moore you'll like the Lazenby picture although it's a little dated now. I've got to agree with everything you say Connery was by far the best with Moore a close second. Dalton was a blow out. Funnily enough I've not seen any of the Brosnan films so I'll hold back on that although I must say I think I'd prefer somebody a little more 'British'. The actor Sam Neil was up for the role once and I think he'd have been pretty good. Whatever, they are good all round clean, action packed, and exciting family movies.

Connery by far. He's just an excellent actor. I thought he was particularly good in The Hunt for Red October.

                    Connery is a given.
But I'm going to have to say I like Brosnan better than Moore. A lot has to do with scripting. The dialogs in Moore's movies just came across as a little too campy. Also, though the tech goodies are a given, they seemed to be way out in Moore's movies. I was impressed with Brosnan "stooping" to pick up a fallen AK and mow down bad guys. Moore could never do something that ordinary. Brosnan's Bond also packs something a little more significant than a PPK, i.e. a Walther P99.

Of course, I'm in my early thirties, and that probably skews my perspective.

Connery was more manly, but Moore was more debonair and had better gadgets. I call it a tie. Brosnan is good, although the last movie was a disheveled mess.

Dalton sucked. Lazenby sucked moose c**k. He way sooooo not believeable.
