  • True or False? (Citgo gas)

Is this true, false, stretched truth, a theory or what? My friend sent this to me.

AT A CITGO STATION, REGULAR WAS PRICED AT $2.82 PER GALLON; NO
CUSTOMERS. HOWEVER, ACROSS THE STREET IT WAS SELLING FOR $2.85 PER
GALLON AND ALL PUMPS HAD CARS WAITING TO FUEL. HERE'S WHY!!!!

Have you noticed how the Citgo signs have disappeared in the past 7-8
months? Very clever move by Chavez. But guess what... CITGO IS CHANGING
ITS NAME...this is serious Americans...make sure you read ..

    NEWS FLASH:

Chavez is NOW getting a Russian Weapons Factory built by Putin. The
RUSSIANS are building an AK-47 Kalashnikov Assault Rifle factory in
Venezuela to give armament support to Communist Rebel groups throughout
    the Americas .

Chavez NOW has IRANIANS operating his oil refineries in Venezuela for
him. It is likely only a matter of time, if not already, before Chavez
has Iranian built LONG RANGE missiles, with a variety of warhead types
    aimed at: Guess Who?

CITGO is NOW in the process of Changing Its Name to PETRO EXPRESS due to
the loss of gasoline sales in the USA, due to the recent publicity of
ownership by Chavez of Venezuela .
Every dollar you spend with CITGO or PETRO EXPRESS gasoline will be used
against you, your basic human rights, and your freedoms. He will start
wars here in the Americas that will probably be the death of millions.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE CHAVEZ IS STARTING TO FEEL THE LOSS OF
REVENUE FROM HIS HOLDINGS. HE OWNS CITGO. This is a very important move
that everyone should be aware of.

ANNOUNCED JUST RECENTLY: CITGO, BEING AWARE THAT SALES ARE DOWN DUE TO
U.S. CUSTOMERS NOT WANTING TO BUY FROM "CITGO-CHAVEZ", HAS STARTED TO
CHANGE THE NAME OF SOME OF THEIR STORES TO "PETRO EXPRESS". DO NOT BUY
FROM "PETRO EXPRESS" EITHER!!! "PETRO EXPRESS" IS ALSO 100% OWNED BY
    "CHAVEZ."

KEEP THIS MEMO GOING SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING.

    BOYCOTT "CITGO" AND "PETRO EXPRESS"

I love the coffee at 7-11.

          Wife likes the Slurpees.

I never buy the gas there though.

Call me silly if you like.

The 7-11 stations that used to be Citgo are slowly re-branding to just "7-11" gasoline. You'll have to look closely, though, since the color scheme (green, red & white) is almost identical to the old Citgo hue.

It seemed like it happened very quickly! Maybe 7-11 doesn't want to be associated with Hugo Chavez.

As for "Petro" stations, I always assumed that was a truck stop chain of stations that sell diesel fuel.

P.S. Now Citgo is running advertisements on radio and television claiming to "assist America with our energy needs" and that they are helping poor people in the inner cities to stay warm in the winter months by giving them cheap/free heating oil.

The comments above reflect my personal opinion as a private citizen, ordinary motorist and all-around good guy.

Obviously, I have better things to do than to record dates & times, but I do recall watching Chavez on the TV news saying he would do, just that...dropping prices on, or providing free heating oil to the U.S. poor.

No Citgo for me. Sorry, if that makes me an ugly American!

My old man was in the oil business for 38 years.... He states the same thing as Snopes does....

No matter where you go, you never know where the fuel is coming from..... You could go to a WaWa, a BP, an Exxon, a Shell.....and it will always come from the cheapest place they can get it from.....whether that's from South America, Mexico, the Middle East, the UK, etc......

I don't buy Citgo on principal......but just an FYI......

We have two things in common.....
We don't have 7-11 in Houston anymore. Most of the stop and go's turned into diamond shamrocks (legal loop hole that some lawyer for DS made huge bonus finding) and now the DS are Valero. (Spel)

I haven't had a REAL slurpee in years, and your right they had really good coffee.
I buy my gas at a gas station, that is low but not WaWa or food store chain.

Well, there's very little gas you buy that isn't funding terrorism in some way... Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, etc...

Who knows how much of the total proceeds does, obviously a very minuscule amount.

Now the next issue is - are my other petroleum based products derived from Venezuelan crude? No more plastics for me!
