  • possible career change

Hello everyone, my name is Mark and this is my first post here. I am a 39/M (turning 40) in Nov of this year. I have worked in the healthcare industry for the last 14 years. Over that time, I have managed to earn a good living, build a 401k and pension, and have great medical benefits. I have a wife and 3 y/o old son who support the decisions I make. Lately I have been feeling burned out, not challenged enough, and that everyday is the same. Out of high school, I decided I was going to either study law enforcement or healthcare. I am now wondering at my age if its worth it to start a career in law enforcement. I have been working out/exercising the last 3 months, managed to lose 24lbs and improve my cardiovascular resistance through running and exercise. I am open to careers in law enforcement, corrections, and parole officers and would like to hear opinions about all of them. I also have a local community college that offers administration of justice courses if that would help improve my chances. Thanks for reading.

During all that time, were you ever taught to use paragraphs?

Every day a cop walks out the door to go to work, he may not walk back in. Is your family prepared for that possibility?

I attended the academy at 43. Age isn’t the problem.

Watch the news some night, watch not just what is reported about police but HOW it is reported.

Do you really want to leave your current job for this ****e show?
