The Kentucky State Police does have a lateral program but they have not run a lateral class in almost two years. Instead of attending the traditional 22 week academy, "laterals" do 11 weeks. This program may or may not still be in existence. Go to kentuckystatepolice.org and look for human resources phone number. They would probably be more than happy to let you know.

With FHP you have to attend the academy for about 9 weeks and you get to pick your duty station before accepting the job offer.Comment
