Any remaining pro-LEO states/departments?

Not sure if this has been asked. I realize there are state specific subforums, however I'm not set on any one state for escaping from California to.

The SO I work for now is (very)small, family orientated, supportive, but mind numbingly slow.
I got some buddies that work for Santa Ana, which is composed of mostly younger hard charging knuckle draggers that love to make drop off's at the jail, who are trying to recruit me, but I don't see them having the ability to be proactive for too much longer.

So the question is: What are some departments in the other states which are active, lets cops be cops, has advancement opportunities (swat mainly), a DA with a good head on their shoulders, and a livable wage?

I was stationed in Ft. Bliss, TX, so I'm kind of leaning towards some departments in TX based primarily off familiarity. Mostly the areas surrounding the Dallas and Austin area.

Come to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, many good departments, good pay, 98% have TMRS a great state municipal retirement, the state is still pro-law enforcement.

I assume it's the equivalent to a "sanctuary city/state" law for immigration, except for firearms. So, how some cities have declared that they're not assisting ICE in enforcing immigration laws, the 2A version would be that Oklahoma is considering declaring that they're not assisting Federal LE in enforcing Federal restrictions on firearms.

Ironically, it would be applying the standard that politicians on the Left came up with to firearms ("sanctuary cities" sprung up because Democrat politicians said that local LE cannot legally enforce Federal law, so Republicans are now threatening to use the same interpretation to Federal restrictions on firearms).

. When you start out there will be a struggle keep in mind with cost of living. But if you do want a state that supports law enforcement, do your due diligence and research the counties the agency’s reside in too. It’s not just states that decide the pay and allocations of funds it’s county commission as and admins too.

Also,the community will have a HUGE indication of what is to come as far as possible new policies and hurdles. I’m not saying it is systematic or instant but they tend to put pressure on commissioners and local politicians during re-election.

Interesting. In Minnesota, under PERA Police and Fire, we did not contribute to Social Insecurity. When I retired, I wasn't even vested in SS. I am now, but I wasn't when I first retired.
