  • Federal Agencies With Take-Home Vehicles

I saw an older post with this topic, but wanted to get more input.

I know that Federal Protective Services under DHS has take homes, do y'all know of any other?

(I guess when it comes to uniformed services, I know a lot of special agents and plainclothes like DEA SA have take homes)

I guess it all depends on your position and specified job as well. That’s about as much thought and input I can provide.
I suppose it also has to do with whether you are in a more rural area or heavily populated area too.

Ones I personally know for sure, FBI, DEA, HSI, and the FAMs who are assigned at a major airport, not flying duties.

Uniform services, are usually assignment dependant, K9, EOD, SWAT/SRT, Investigations...etc. Don't look to have a take home car for many years, and again...assignment dependant.

From my experience/observation most 1811s with DHS (HSI, USSS) and DOJ (FBI, DEA, ATF) do get take-home cars to be used duty-to-domicile.

OIGs and Military Criminal Investigation Organizations (USACIDC, NCIS, USMC-CID, and AFOSI) generally do not.

Having been in both camps there are definitely advantages and disadvantages to both.

Several OIGs (if not all) do provide take home GOVs.

Mgmt discretion. I’m with BLM and do not have a take home. However, all the other BLM officers I work with do as well as every other FED agency I worked with One of the disadvantages of not having a direct LE line of authority.

Everyone (but you) gets a take home G-ride....?

Maybe there's something else afoot here--

Sounds to me like someone doesn't like you.
