We're talking apples and bench grinders here, folks. One has nothing to do with the other.
That said, we do't know the actual conversation. Rememebr that. All of us are (or were) judged by ther public, the media, fellow oficers, supervisors, etc., enough, without we here turning on our own.
IFthe trooper uttered this statement, I agree as given it was rude and cold and could have been delivered better.
But as to whether or not to cite the gentleman and perhaps lengthen his life by reminding him to watch his speed, that is a choice to be made exclusively by the trooper himself - not for us to second guess.
Having been in the position of citing people others would have been either too embarassed, too intimidated or too pressured not to, I can understand both sides of this case.
I say thank God for people like this CMH winner and, thank God for cops of all kinds, who understand th danger and life-saving that occurs in speed and all other traffic violation enforcement. Oooo-RAH!
