the fact you even ask that shows your agenda, or sheer lack of common sense imo

if he had just complied he would have been cuffed and never gotton hurt at all.

the cop didnt even do half what he could or should of consdiering the guy wouldnt stop trying to get away. Cop showed massive restraint imo with so many people whatching i wouldnt want to be sitting holding on to some guy waiting for one of his buddies to attack me from behind.

Come on man, I don't have an "agenda". I'm in the Marine Corps and an aspiring cop. I'm not out to throw dirt on LE.

At first I was watching it and thinking, wtf... How can this video have a "police brutality" title. Are people retarded? Then I saw him do the choke hold and it got me to wondering if the cop could get in trouble for something like that. It's sad that people analyze and point the finger at cops stuck in this position.

I would have done much worse. The officer was using alot of restraint. The suspect has a bloody face and the officer is still trying to subdue him.I believe the officer should have done exactly what he did except for the fact all those people standing around drunk and watching made me a little nervous. But thats what seperates law enforcement from civilians we are willing to go that extra mile.I HATE BLEEDING HEARTS.....

I believe this video shows what happens if an officer uses too little force to get the job done. He's clearly lost too much energy to overcome the resistance of the suspect and by the time he resorts to a carotid restraint technique, he's unable to apply it properly. He's in a very dangerous situation and I wouldn't want to be in his shoes!

Not even close to brutality nor excessive force. I have given much more to guys who are resisting and it is still legal and within reason.

My thoughts exactly when I watched the video. It goes back to something I learned in defensive tactics many years ago. It's in the form of testimony on the stand after using force:

Plaintiff Attorney: Officer, how hard to you hit my poor client?

Officer: I hit him as hard as I physically could.

Plaintiff Attorney: Officer, can you explain why you felt it necessary to beat my client with all your might?

Officer: Because I only wanted to hit him once.

                    Get it done!

The only thing worse than using excessive force, is using unsufficient force to get the job done!

not an LEO but, imo, no. the tactics and holds officers are trained to use (and used in this case) may look "brutal" to most folks who aren't smart enough to realize that training of that type is necessary. therefore, it doesn't surprise me that someone would post it on youtube as "brutality". he resisted... he got subdued. not much gray that i can see.

That punk got off lucky! The officer showed remarkable restraint. I would have used as many pressure points and knee strikes as I needed to gain compliance. That officer has no idea how many of the bystanders are friends of the scumbag. That officer could have done a lot more damage to that kid than a simple choke hold. If the guy wants to fight or resist the officer than he needs to realize there will be consequences.
                        TO THAT OFFICER, GOOD WORK!

Hear those retards booing when he uses the neck restraint? If any of those IDIOTS had thought to help the officer, that might not have been necessary. Marine, you need to think twice about this job if you are questioning his actions.

Well I find that a lot of what the general public considers police brutality in reality is not. I'm all for doing whatever necessary to subdue scum bags. I just meant is it possible that if this person brought this video in and wanted to use it against the cop, could he have a case?

Maybe it's sad that I have to question that...

Personally, I would have avoided that situation myself as a civilian instead of having that officer mistake me for a foe.
