YCO is basiclly the same as a CO. The caseworker (counesler) or YCC pays more, but you need a degree i believe. the YCO i believe does not get police powers like a normal CO in CA, i know they cannot off duty carry like a CDCR CO can. I hope i gave you some insight. If i posted incorrect information, i apoligize i am just going off what one of my CO buddies told me.

i have 2 asscociate degrees. 1 in criminal justice and 1 in social science.
i believe that quals for being a caseworker... however i was wondering if that would qualify or how high of a demand it is for these positions.
